Generic test bench for AOCS
Every space programme requires test benches to validate the subsystems that make up the vehicle. Until now, these benches have mainly been designed from scratch for each mission. New trends, however, are pointing towards designs capable of adopting words such as reusable, modular and extendable; The Generic AOCS Test Bench (GATB) is a scalable system, which grants SENER the capability to participate in any validation campaign in the AOCS field.
The GATB offers sequential validation, a focus which can be seen in the following available development phases:
- AOCS SW and Simulation carried out on the same platform in real-time.
- AOCS SW carried out on a flight processor –ERC32 or LEON – and separate simulation, also in real time.
- AOCS SW carried out on the onboard computer and Simulation on a dedicated one. The interface is provided by the relevant electrical panel.
- Identical to above, except that this final phase includes flight hardware –sensors and/or actuators– in the loop.
