A350
SENER has been involved in several studies over the last months for the A350 Programme, working for AIRBUS directly and for ALESTIS AEROSPACE. SENER is currently working for ALESTIS AEROSPACE on two major A350 XWB work packages: Belly Fairing and Section 19.1.
The Belly Fairing is a 23 meter long, 7 meter wide and 3 meter deep structure, composed of metallic and composite materials. Over 100 sandwich panels, and several hundred kilograms of supporting structure constituted by frames, stringers, fittings and rods are the subject of the ongoing maturity effort.
Incorporated in the package are a number of actuated inlets and outlets of the air conditioning system, as well as hundreds of systems installation components. Managing this massive interface perimeter as well as all accessibility and maintainability requirements, at the same time as being weight and cost efficient, is a true challenge for the design team.
The Section 19.1 or tailcone is the APU integrating structure, a 4 x 2 x 2 meter fuselage section with demanding technical requirements due to the engine presence. The package incorporates not only structures design, but electrical and fluid systems installations engineering.
