Thanks to its engineering capabilities and its technological skills, SENER is involved in the engineering of complex aerostructures. In 2002, SENER was chosen to design the belly fairing for the new giant in aviation, the A380. SENER designed this vast structure, manufactured for the most part from composite materials, and played an active role in the certification phase. SENER was also responsible for the engineering of two other structural packages for the A380 programme. This included the whole design phases: the preliminary design, detailed designs, stress analysis, test simulations, production engineering, help with the certification tests, etc.
Today, SENER is working on various aerostructure engineering projects, mainly using composite materials, for the A400M, the B787 and the new A350 XW.
