SENER, engineering practices respectful to the environment
SENER, whose main objective is to implement high integral quality projects for its customers and society in general, is always committed to developing engineering practices respectful to the environment. Thus, SENER’s employees fulfil a set of rules and regulations in all the projects developed and in the services provided. Besides, this commitment is implemented in daily practice through our safety, environmental and quality management integrated system, certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
SENER’s environmental policy addresses both the indirect impact, produced in the environment by projects developed for third parties, as well as direct impact, that is to say, due to the repercussion of materials used and waste produced from the own activity.
Respect to the environment will always prevail in any activity carried out by SENER, by:
Indirect impacts:
- Complying with all the legal and regulatory requirements necessary in this field.
- Complying responsibly with the project requirements, explicit and implicit, related to environmental aspects.
- Performing the necessary environmental impact studies, including the suitable assessing of the interaction of projects with the environment.
- Committing to the energy and raw materials saving, the waste reduction and the prevention of environmental pollution in every phase of the project life cycle: construction, start-up, operation and eventual dismantling.
Direct impacts:
- Reducing and rationalising the consumption of paper and energy.
- With the recycling and recovery of packaging.
- Through the selective collection of waste and it’s recycling, whenever feasible.
- Selecting the materials and equipment that generate fewer amounts of waste and less toxicity.
SENER will work on the continuous improvement of its environmental quality systems and processes.
